The K Strasse dvd Mk 1 is now available. Just contact me: rob dot stowell at canterbury dot ac dot nz and we'll talk.
It contains some never before seen films from Chris May; three music videos, a short film, and an uneasy hybrid of doc and mock umentary.
It's almost all survived a time as vhs video, so the quality ain't perfect. But vhs is, thankfully, robust enough to have lasted ok for a couple of decades.
That's a kind of miracle, too.
Still very interested in anyone else's footage in whatever format it comes. From Debra Bustin, Stuart Page, Lindsey, Linda- the house was home to a lot of people who might have painted, drawn, filmed or photographed.
Anything at all will be gratefully recieved.

K Street- The Video Archive.

I'm compiling a rough archive of K Street video.
If you are an ex-imate, and see or read this: let me know via the comments section if you'd like me to post out a copy.
If you happen to have any rare speckled footage, I'm also very interested...
At present the contents are:
a short k strasse 'doco' (don't believe a word of it!)
underhead: a short (not short enough) underground film sensitively portraying the angst of the aimless life
'johnny frog' - a stunning video of the Scorched Earth Policy song, from Mervyn (Rongotai) Lomas. Taped to vhs off radio with pictures.
"Burn, David, Burn" and "Psychic Discharge" two short videos of The Max Block songs. Currently in low-grade vhs state, but one day (I'm working on it now) the original film-capture can be repaired.
A medley of Chris May's video-films. Also from vhs, and featuring an outrageous bicycle stunt!
More later...

K Strasse- heh

Just had a visit to sunny Chch from Chris May, learned gentleman of the Academy of the Victorian University. He's entrusted me with some explosive video footage- heh!
Funny how a simple walk through the garden- and Ken Nichol playing the mandolin- took me away from now and here... summer itself is a long way off. The tender green of the elm leaves... and the ducks.
